OKPIK

“INDOOR SESSION”

“OUTDOOR SESSION”

January 25-27, 2008
Program starts 9:00pm, January 25th
Camp Tapico, Kalkaska, MI

COST-$55.00, Due with registration form.
covers materials, food, lodging, equipment, etc.

$70.00 fee for January 6th walk-ons.

“OKPIK” is limited to 20 participants

Our objective in “OKPIK” training is to train the Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, and a 14 year old or older Scout, such as Troop Guide, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, or Junior Assistant Scoutmaster in your troop so that you can feel comfortable, and confident conducting your own cold weather camping program with your troop.

We will be touching on such things as, shelters, clothing systems, sleeping systems, cooking equipment, transportation methods, homemade equipment, cold weather first aid.

If you have boys that want to attend “OKPIK”, and you cannot get an adult to attend and you have attended “OKPIK” we have these options for you.

  1. Attend all indoor and outdoor sessions, pay full fee.
  2. Bring boys to indoor session, register for and attend outdoor session, pay food fee, $30.00.

The “OKPIK” program is limited to 20 participants, because of this we need to have you Pre-register.

For the indoor session January 5, lunch will be provided with coffee, tea, & hot chocolate.

We will have some “Cold Weather Camping” books for sale, such as:
Venture series ”Snow Camping” $4.50
OKPIK: Cold Weather Camping” $10.50
