THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE IS USED TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION
FOR THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT.
SCOUT:
1. Upon completing all the requirements, (merit badges,
project, report, and personal statement), the Scout
prepares the official Eagle rank application. He and
his Scoutmaster or Troop Advancement Chairman review
the application and all other papers before submitting
them to the Council Office.
2. The Scout takes in the Eagle application and his Eagle project
notebook to the Council Office.
COUNCIL OFFICE:
1. The Council Office reviews the Scout's application
to ensure that all the information needed is provided
and the Scout has met all the requirements.
2. The Council Office mails out the Scout's request for letters of
recommendation from the names listed on his application.
3. After the letters of recommendation have been returned, the Council
Office notifies the Scout and his District Advancement Chairman by
mail that the Scout is ready for a Board of Review.
DISTRICT ADVANCEMENT CHAIRMAN:
1. The District Advancement Chairman arranges a Board
of Review for the Eagle candidate.
EAGLE BOARD OF REVIEW:
1. On a mutually agreed date, a committee of no fewer
than 3 and no greater than 6 people (at least 1 from
the Troop and at least 1 from the District) meet to
determine the readiness of the Scout for the rank of
Eagle.
2. If approval is unanimous, the application is signed and returned
to the Council Office.
3. If approval is not unanimous, the Board prepares it's findings
in a written report.
COUNCIL OFFICE:
1. The Council Executive reviews the documents and sign
them, if he concurs.
2. The Council Office submits the approved eagle application to the
National Headquarters
3. The Council Office keeps a copy of the application
and the notebook on file.
4. The Council Office receives notification of action
by the National Court of Honor approximately 6-8 weeks
after the application is submitted.
5. The Council Office notifies the Scoutmaster of the action by the
National Court of Honor.
TROOP:
1. A ceremony is planned for presentation of the award.
SCOUT:
1. Any Scout not recommended for the rank of Eagle,
whether locally or nationally, may submit an appeal
in writing to the Council Advancement Chairman.
COUNCIL ADVANCEMENT CHAIRMAN:
1. The Council Advancement Chairman reviews the Scout's
request and determine if another a Board of Review for
the Scout will be granted.
