Past DeCourcy Award Recipients

The DeCourcy Award is presented to the one lodge in the section which best exemplifies and carries out the camping promotion program. Recognition is made annually at the section conclave. This award was brought about as a means of developing greater interest in the camping programs of the local council.

George R. DeCourcy became the Area Camping Chairperson a year prior to his death in January of 1974. His intense dedication, talent, and humor gained him many Scouting friends and achievements. It is in the memory of his interests and devotion toward developing and improving council camping that we initiated the award in 1975.
